eSourcing Capability Model

The eSourcing Capability Model (eSCM) is a framework that provides a structured approach to managing IT sourcing and vendor management activities. It is designed to help organizations optimize their sourcing and vendor management practices, reduce risks, and achieve desired business outcomes.

The eSCM framework consists of five capability areas:

  1. Sourcing Strategy: Capability to develop sourcing strategies that align with organizational goals and objectives, and that take into account internal and external factors, such as market trends and regulatory requirements.
  2. Service Definition: Capability to define the services and products that will be sourced, including defining requirements, specifying service levels, and developing contracts.
  3. Service Provider Selection: Capability to identify and select the right service providers, including conducting market research, evaluating vendor capabilities, and negotiating contracts.
  4. Service Delivery Management: Capability to manage the delivery of services, including monitoring service levels, managing vendor relationships, and resolving disputes.
  5. Relationship Management: Capability to manage the ongoing relationship with service providers, including maintaining effective communication, managing performance, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.

The eSCM framework provides a structured approach to managing IT sourcing and vendor management activities, ensuring that they are aligned with organizational goals and objectives, and that they are effectively managed, monitored, and measured. By leveraging this framework, organizations can optimize their IT sourcing and vendor management strategy, effectively manage vendor relationships, mitigate risks, and ensure that their sourcing and vendor management activities are aligned with regulatory requirements.
