There is ample evidence to support the need for improvement in information technology governance. The focus has been on structures - governance boards, committees, councils etc. - processes and frameworks - COBIT, ValIT, ITIL, PPM, Stage Gate etc. - but not on the information - particularly, risk and cost data - that enables the decision making critical to business value creation.
