The popular service - solution looking for a problem? - has been more down than up. So who is to blame? What can one learn?

Twitter is having major, I mean service down for hours, problems with its operations. Popular explanations for this state of affairs vary by the person you speak with but even the company does not deny the fact that it is having problems.

So what does it do? Follows the first rule of management: find a scapegoat. In this case, VP of Engineering/Chief Architect Blaine Cook. Follows the second rule of management: throw the scapegoat under the bus! So, adios Mr. Cook.

Now, Twitter can focus on the root cause of their problem. A kitchen table strategy, back of the napkin business model and garage operations make for good cocktail conversation. Real eBusiness requires adults who can focus on getting it done!
