Cisco's Grand India Ambitions

It seems like everybody has a grandparent in Florida and business operations in Bangalore, India!

Cisco doesn't want to be left behind. As a matter of fact, they are making a huge commitment - shifting 20% of their top brass to India! The reasons are familiar - deep talent pool of cost effective labor. However, there is another important reason - India's internal market is taking off. It presents a great opportunity for a company that provides the building blocks for infrastructure. By expanding its footprint at the right time, Cisco plans to reap the benefits.

Anybody remember the promise of the exploding Chinese market in the 80s? How many companies that setup shop there made it big as promised?
