While information technology (IT) has risen steadily in importance to public companies over the past four decades, in many companies, the level of board oversight regarding IT strategy and execution has not kept pace. As innovation demands and competitive pressures continue to elevate the criticality of IT, a study by Deloitte Consulting LLP (Deloitte Consulting) has identified a gap between how boards currently addresses IT and What the Board Needs to Know about IT.
