The Changing Role of CIO: From IT Leader to Corporate Strategist

Enclosed is a research study that provides invaluable insight into the changing/evolving/emerging role of the CIO. For those of you who do not have the time - or the inclination - to go through a lengthy study, enclosed is a two page abstract.

The CIO title is one of the most meaningless titles in the world of business. What does it mean to be a "chief information officer?" What does it take to be one? The position has been occupied with IT geeks who are now being told that you must "evolve" into a "business leader" - whatever that means!

Meaningless title + unreasonable expectations = CIO career disaster!

As a CIO, you need to solve this equation to your advantage or you will either spend your days in a frustrating position or caught in the "CIO revolving door". (for one of the most critical qualifications in a CIO is: job hunting!)

One of the ways to do that is to look at the way the role has evolved. Then devise a strategy to overcome the seemingly insurmountable challenge! Here is some help.

Enclosed is a research study that provides invaluable insight into the changing/evolving/emerging role of the CIO. For those of you who do not have the time - or the inclination - to go through a lengthy study, enclosed is a two page abstract.
